Biography & Research Interest:

Graduated from Medical school in Tehran, Iran in 1974. Specialized in Internal Medicine 1981, In Shiraz University, Iran. Assistant Porf, Medicne in Shiraz University, Iran until 1984. Moved to Canada in 1984. Two years fellowship in EEG and EMG. 1990-1991 Epilepsy fellowship at Yale University, US. FRCPC in Neurology.

Assistant Prof , Neuology U of A in Edmonton Alberta 1991-2000. Associate Prof Neurology 2001-2017 UBC/VGH. Since 2017- present Clinical Prof Neurology UBC/VGH.

Research Interest: Epilepsy and epilepsy surgery as well as EEG., EEG frequencies in seizure onset, mesial temporal lobe epilepsy and EEG; Status epilepticus in ICU and management. Seizure detection and prediction in continuous video/EEG recordings.

Member of American Epilepsy Society (AES) and Canadian Neurological Society Federation (CNSF) and Ex-president of the Canadian Society of Clinical Neurophysiology (CCNS). He is the ex- Canadian representative for the International Federation of Clinical Neurophysiology (IFCN).
